After a lot of work behind the scenes, the XRadio server, stream and website has been updated.
For about a month, XRadio Co-Owner/Director of Technology DJ Mantle worked hard behind the scenes moving the entire server from our old server to a new virtual private server. With his experience and expertise, XRadio had a small amount of total downtime, with the stream down for a minimal amount of time.
Thank you, DJ Mantle.
With the update came changes to even the most sacred component of the entire server, the XRadio stream. XRadio leaped into the future by dumping our old broadcast software for a much better program called AzuraCast; a much more complete and robust broadcasting software that I am in now in love with. With this new software comes a new public player, which is nothing short of perfect. You can check it out here and by clicking the pink “Listen Live” banner at the top of the website. Clicking that will open up the player in a new window so you can continue to surf the website. It’s awesome.
Speaking of the website, I will say that it is still a work-in-progress. Expect big changes in the near future, including content and design. I’m still experimenting with different themes, so who knows where we will end up. As of right now, it is a hodgepodge of themes but is functional and simple enough for now.
Syndicated programming like Dance Party Weekly and Sugar Radio Show with Robin Schulz will be returning to the schedule soon.
DJX: the XRadio Auto DJ has been updated with thousands of amazing songs. As usual, there is a wide spectrum of genres, including rock, rap, rave music and remixes.
The XRadio Featured Artist of the Month will be making a comeback in the near future, as well. This feature/podcast spotlights unsigned music artists from all around the world. Artists interested in this amazing opportunity to get their music to the ears of our listeners can get in touch with us via the Contact page.
